Chas: The Man and the Myth:
Born in the early days before the U.S. entered
World War II, this mild-mannered hipster seemed,
to a troubled and confused world, to be the Mojo
Mystic foretold in the Ancient Scrolls of Phemus,
for it was prophesied “that one among you will
appear as plain as an old paper lunch bag, but this
child will be Bringer of Jive to those wretched,
huddled masses seeking a Great Succor.”

Adopted by unsuspecting Earthling parents Chas
was raised in San Francisco where he mingled with
the common riff-raff, pretending to be an ordinary
human and attending local public schools, like
Roosevelt Junior High and Georgie Washington High.
In these hallowed, funky halls he mingled with such
stellar individuals as Bebo Cleveland, Twine Dozier,
T Bone Wood, and Mario “teach me to draw”
Colobianchi.
He served his country in uniform in the late 1940’s
in Den 4, Pack 17 of the San Francisco chapter of
the Cub Scouts of America, and in later years...
